Noli is a small old town made for walking: choosing where to stay mainly means choosing how close you want to be to the sea and to the historic centre. The Hotel Miramare is both, in Corso Italia 2, inside the medieval old town and facing the sea, a few minutes on foot from the beach.
It is a family-run 3-star hotel, run by the same family since 1923, in a building that was a fortress of the old town in 1465. Many rooms and apartments have a sea view; breakfast is included, served in our breakfast room, and pets are welcome with a supplement. It is one of the historic addresses for staying in Noli, facing the sea.
Room or apartment?
The choice depends on how you travel. The rooms are ideal for a couple or a family who want breakfast served and the hotel services; the apartments, with a kitchenette and more space, are designed for longer stays and for those looking for independence, still in the historic centre.
Historic centre or seafront?
In Noli the distinction is subtler than elsewhere: the medieval old town and the seafront touch each other. The historic centre is a maze of caruggi (narrow alleys), towers and shops enclosed between the walls and the beach, while Corso Italia runs right along the sea. Staying in the old town, as at the Miramare, means having the historic alleys and the seafront together: you step out and within a few paces you are both among the medieval stones and on the sand.
For those who want the beach right outside it is the ideal location; for those seeking complete quiet, the higher areas or the hamlets towards Capo Noli are more secluded, but far from the services and the life of the old town.
When to come
Summer is the season of the sea: beach, swimming and long days on the shore, with water certified Blue Flag. Spring and autumn are perfect for enjoying the old town at a calm pace and for the trails of Capo Noli and the Pellegrino, when the heat is milder. At the end of June the old town comes alive with Noli Medievale and the regatta of the districts. The hotel is open and welcoming in every season: the sea, in front, never changes.
